Become a publisher

A publisher account lets you write on a desk, appear in the feed after a short visibility review, and earn from the membership pool plus your own invite link. Read the notes below, then apply.

What is a publisher account?

Publishers write on reporter.pics, pick a desk, and can earn from membership revenue. Readers subscribe to the app, not to a single person. Publishers share 70% of that revenue in the pool. Affiliate earnings from your invite link are separate.

What happens after I apply?

The application is accepted at once so you can start writing. The account stays a ghost until you reach the post threshold: posting is open, the news feed does not show you yet.

What does a ghost account mean?

You can compose and open your own profile. You do not appear in For You, Explore, or trending desks. Staff turn visibility on after the review that follows your first posts.

When does the visibility review start?

After you publish the number of posts set in Admin (currently the first few notes). The account then sits in the review queue. When staff open visibility, your writing can reach the feed.

How do earnings work?

Two ledgers. Pool: 70% of app subscription revenue, split by that week’s read share. Affiliate: a member who joins through your link, subscribes within 36 hours, and stays three months credits you 33.33% of one month of that member’s subscription (the rate is editable in Admin). Each further three months they stay, the same share applies — like a salary.

How are payouts sent?

The application asks for an IBAN. That saved account is the first option when you request a payout on Earnings. Staff review each request. The amount cannot exceed your unpaid balance.

What rules apply?

Original writing, copyright, and the community guidelines. Copy, spam, or illegal material can close an account. Radar fingerprints posts and looks for copies on the web. reporter.pics is not a law firm.
